CHINA-CEECs

On September 9, 2014, China and CEEC investment promotion agencies co-host the first Meeting of the China-CEEC Investment Promotion Agencies Contact Mechanism during the China International Fair for Investment and Trade in Xiamen. The meeting aimed to implement the Bucharest action guideline jointly signed by China and CEEC leaders to promote China-CEEC two-way investment cooperation and level up economic and trade cooperation. Attended by all 16 CEEC representatives, the contact mechanism of China-CEEC investment promotion agencies (hereinafter referred to as “the contact mechanism”) was announced to create, and goals and work tasks were set accordingly. In the second half of November in 2014, CIPA and CEEC counterparts met in Poland in the second Meeting of China-CEEC Investment Promotion Agencies to prepare a consensus file on China-CEEC investment promotion agency contact mechanism. The consensus file was signed by CIPA and the Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency (PAIiIZ) on December 17 during the China-CEE nation leader summit in Belgrade, Serbia.

The contact mechanism sets up two secretariats, one in CIPA and the other in PAIiIZ, to coincide with CEEC economies and industries, similar to other operation models under the China-CEEC cooperative framework. The establishment aims to provide better service for the contact mechanism.

The 3rd Meeting of China-CEEC Investment Promotion Agencies Contact Mechanism was held in Ningbo on June 8th.
